Disney World is one of world’s most famous attractions. Walt Disney world was started in the year 1971 with one theme park it now comprises of four theme parks, two water resorts twenty four themed hotels and almost every type of sports and entertainment imaginable. It is spread over 23,447 acres.
Due to the size of Disney World, variety of attractions available for sightseeing and the large number of people who visit the place every year it is essential to plan a visit to the Dream Land of Disney very carefully. The first step of any vacation in a theme park is to buy the tickets.
Disney world tickets can be bought online or they can be bought at the gate of Disney World. If like ninety nine percent of the people who are on vacation in Din your time and money is limited then you would be well advised to buy your tickets from the net.
The easy and a little expensive way to purchase the Disney world tickets is to go to Disney official site, do a little planning about what you plan to visit and when and how much time you plan to spend in that Fabulous place and click a button to get your dream vacation started.
A little difficult and slightly less expensive way is to search the net and wade through all the websites offering tickets for Disney world and separate those which are licensed and bonded and authorized ticket provider. You can select the one site which offers the more value for money from these sites and get your ticket. You can also go to a travel agent online and after a little research book your ticket through them. You can get a complete a package from airline tickets, transportation to and from the Disney World and accommodation through this way.
The most difficult and consequently the cheapest and perhaps the most rewarding way to get a Disney world ticket is to use the internet to work at getting a good deal. You can register at various sites which are exclusively devoted to Disney World, this way you can get information on good deals way before other people. A person can also visit message boards and groups whose purpose is to give people information regarding good deals on Disney World travel.
Which ever methods you choose, please remember to follow some essential rules.
You must make sure the reliability of whatever source you are buying the ticket from.
Please remember that tickets are cheaper if bought well in advance and if you purchase more days on a single pass then your per day price is also less. Include park hopper options if you want to visit more then one major attraction. You can also add the no expiry or the upgrade option.
Visiting in off peak season is a good idea if you can manage it. Orlando weather remains almost the same during the whole year so an off season visit is not as bad as it sounds and it also will be a lot cheaper.
Try to avail as much perks as you can while shopping for the tickets. You can get discount packages plus free transportation and also some money off from you hotel stay if you try a little.
The above are some ways to get Disney World tickets online. Disney World is an ideal vacation and a must see place to visit.

Ahead of the World Cup in 2014, Brazil’s government has approved nearly billion to expand and renovate 16 airports, and guaranteed another 0 million in investments related to the country’s ports. The allocations come amid criticism from soccer’s international governing body, FIFA, that Brazil is not meeting its infrastructure obligations in advance of the tournament. What are some opportunities that may trickle down to international companies?
Thomas Rideg, Managing Director for Global Intelligence Alliance Latin America gives us his views.
Will Brazil host a better World Cup than South Africa?
“Brazil will host a successful World Cup. This is a country accustomed to hosting major local and regional soccer tournaments. Combined with a population that breathes the sport and its current economic strength, it should have no excuse not to host an even more successful World Cup than South Africa, as long as it makes timely investments in infrastructure. Although a bit late, these investments are already in place.
There is a classical Brazilian way of doing things and the reason why Brazil has the unpopular reputation of being “o pais do jeitinho” (meaning: the country that somehow or other gets things done). Home to an ever-increasing population and skilled workforce with a rare combination of enthusiasm and creativity, Brazil also has the downside of bureaucracy, procrastination, and corruption.
Bureaucracy is the first painful stage before getting anything done here. Once that is overcome, things will flow and Brazil will positively surprise international spectators when it comes to making many of the necessary investments to host the World Cup.
The investments will never satisfy the local population, however. Many understandably point out that the resources destined to improve stadiums, hotels, ports and roads to host a 30-day event should instead be concentrated on public services. Services such as health and education have seen improvements over the years but still reflect conditions of underdevelopment in certain areas. The local population is also very skeptical regarding the accurate destination of the funds allocated to the specific investments required, as corruption is feared to permeate this type of process.”
How are concerns about the country’s infrastructure being addressed?
“The most urgent improvements are the ports – which is currently being addressed – and the airports. Brazil has been facing “airway chaos” for around three years. In the first semester of 2010, domestic air travel increased by 30% and international travel increased 13.5%.
Regardless of the World Cup or Olympics, the ANAC (National Agency of Civil Aviation) has announced that it will not approve any increase in the number of flights until airports are expanded.
Having said this, plans for airport expansions have been in discussion prior to FIFA´s obligations. Infraero, the government-run airport administration, has already announced that it will be investing R$ 6.5 billion across 16 Brazilian airports, including the 12 that will be key to receiving tourists for the World Cup. Infraero may also soon be up for privatization, and if this is the case, more fluidity shall be seen in these improvements.
Roads have also been a major problem. The gradual improvements seen throughout the years have been through the privatization of some of Brazil’s most important highways.”
How much investment will the World Cup attract?
“Investments related to the 2014 World Cup are estimated to surpass R$ 140 billion.”
Which are some industries that will be targets of new foreign investors?
“It is hard to think of areas that will not be targets of direct or indirect investments by foreign investors.
One of the main areas of investment will be in information technology and communications. We’ll have international tourists coming into the country with different technologies such as 4G, local tourists demanding roaming services, stadiums demanding security monitoring and the need for high speed networks for image transportation, traffic control systems and countless other applications. The industry is expected to attract more than R$ 20 billion in investments – most of which will be in the hands of established players but also within the aim of potential foreign entrants.
Hotels, convention centers and restaurants will also be areas of investment. Here, we are talking about potential investment across 12 cities, a number with completely different stages of development, local cultures and climates. Let’s take Manaus for example. It is one of the warmest and most humid cities in the country and has an informal atmosphere. By comparison, Curitiba is one of the coldest and driest cities and has a conservative and European-like culture. This means that the forms and areas of investments within the hospitality sector can vary intensely from city to city.
Large infrastructure projects for roads, tunnels, airports and stadiums are on the rise, so we will also see interest from companies involved in construction equipment, such as road building machines, cranes and aerial working platforms, as well as those involved in outdoor illumination projects, transport, logistics etc.
Foreign companies with an edge in safety and sustainability are sure to find their niche in preparation for the World Cup, as both these areas are of increasing priority in the country.”
What advice would you give foreign investors?
“Firstly, make sure you understand your key attraction: the market. Huge differences exist across the country and across different socio-economic segments. Consumers are more demanding as a consequence of becoming more exposed globally. At the same time, Brazilians are unique and like to be perceived and treated as such, so large generic mass offerings may not always work.
Although Brazil is a continental country with huge differences across all its six regions, big differences can also be seen within the regions themselves. For example, Rio and São Paulo are only 40 minutes apart by airplane; yet they differ in terms of culture, lifestyles and work habits. The two cities are also home to different industries. São Paulo is an evolving fast paced cosmopolitan melting pot while Rio, though a huge city and former national capital, has preserved some of its more traditional cultural characteristics.
Secondly, though the market may be huge and full of opportunities, one should not underestimate the local and established players. Depending on the industry, many world-class players may already be servicing the market with state-of-the-art offerings. Understanding these competitors; where they are based, how long they have been in the market, how and where they distribute for example, is very important in getting an idea of your competitive challenges.
Thirdly, understand the country in terms of its regulations, tax obligations and administrative requirements. Go beyond a general understanding as such obligations or incentives can change from region to region and differ from industry to industry.
Fourthly, be patient. Some companies get excited when they see an opportunity, such as a notice for a huge public bid but they could end up finding the process of bidding to be extremely complex and bureaucratic. It is still important to establish connections in certain geographies and sectors.
Finally, be persistent. Brazil is bureaucratic and can have a frustrating degree of centralization. These however, are only bottlenecks and are certainly not barriers. The country is huge, the economy is stable and the market is hungry. Furthermore, the outlook for sustainable growth is optimistic. With the World Cup in 2014 and the Olympics in 2016, consumer and investor confidence is on the rise, making Brazil stand out as one of the world´s most attractive markets for investment over the next decade.
With proper market intelligence, decisions on if, when, where and how to compete in Brazil will be faster, safer and much more accurate.”

Ireland is nicknamed the Emerald Isle because of the incredible lush greenery of its landscape. This small country of just 32,000 square miles provides the visitor with some of the most stunning scenery in the world. Ireland is dotted with beautiful lakes and mountains, vast meandering rivers and valleys, jaw-dropping cliffs and peninsulas, hundreds of isolated but accessible islands and dozens of the most attractive beaches. In short, this little island provides the most spectacular scenery you are ever likely to come across anywhere in the world.
All of this is compressed into an easily navigable island with infrastructure that has come on in leaps and bounds in recent years and makes it feasible to explore the entire country in a shorter time span than before. That said; you could spend years in Ireland and still not discover all of its beauty, such is the amount and the diversity of its wonderful attractions.
Ireland for tourism purposes is divided into eight separate regions. Each have notable and spectacular scenic vistas that compete with any that the planet of Earth can throw up. Each is worth a holiday in its own right and all will impose upon you the compelling desire to return. Each requires books instead of articles to properly convey their beauty but here we will content ourselves with a brief summary.
The most popular is the South West which comprises the vast and stunning counties of Kerry and Cork. Scenic highlights of this area are the famous Lakes of Killarney overlooked by the highest mountains in Ireland, the Ring of Kerry, beautiful West Cork and the Beara Peninsula, the Dingle Peninsula and hundreds of more that immerse you in a magnetic fashion as you travel. Cork City is the third largest city on the island of Ireland and is a good starting point for discovering the huge region.
Next in terms of visitor numbers come the West of Ireland, which is deemed the three counties of Galway, Mayo and Roscommon. The Connemara area is the most famous and incredibly beautiful part of this region straddling the boundaries of west Galway and Mayo. Buzzing Galway City is a superb location in which you base yourself for visiting this region. Drive, cycle or walk from Galway to Louisburgh for one of the great scenic treks in the world. Return on the same route and see an equally stunning but different vista as Mother Nature puts on a different face.
The Shannon Region is made up of counties Clare, Limerick and part of County Tipperary and part of County Offaly. Don’t be confused by the unusual divisions in this case as the natural geographical boundaries are the reason for splitting it in such a manner. When you come to see it, you will understand. The Cliffs of Moher and the desolate Burren are the most noted beauty spots in this region along with the Slieve Bloom Mountains and all the beauty that emanates from the navigable River Shannon as it swells into lakes of stunning demeanour.
The North West brings together the counties of Sligo, Leitrim, Cavan, Monaghan and Donegal and what contrasting and divine beauty there is in this region. Glenveigh National Park is a vast terrain of incredible beauty stretching across County Donegal and this huge county also presents you with best beaches in Ireland. This is also the Lakeland area of Ireland, spread across Cavan, Leitrim and Sligo providing numbing beauty and solitary peace away from any large centre of population.
The Six Counties of Northern Ireland is a naturally affiliated political and geographical region with the second largest city in Ireland, Belfast, as its centre. The Glens of Antrim together with a stunning coastline are highlights here. The largest lake in Ireland, Lough Neagh, is also a focal touching five of the six counties in the region. The Mountains of Mourne in County Down are almost chilling in their beauty as they sweep down to the Irish Sea.
The East Coast & Midlands region of Ireland is made up out of counties Kildare, Laois, Longford, Louth, Meath, North Offaly, Westmeath and Wicklow and be prepared for a few stunning surprises at the beauty and diversity of this somewhat underrated region. County Wicklow is certainly worthy of the title of captain of this region – not called the Garden of Ireland for nothing!
The South East Region of tourism in Ireland is comprised of County Carlow, County Kilkenny, South County Tipperary, County Waterford and County Wexford. Waterford is Ireland’s oldest city and home to the world famous Waterford Crystal Store. It is also the meeting point of the Three Sisters Rivers, the Suir, the Nore and the Barrow. To the north of this are several beautiful mountain ranges running east to west bisecting the region with a spine of unadulterated beauty.
County Dublin is the eighth tourist region and whilst the main basis for this is of course Dublin City, capital of the Republic of Ireland, the county throws up some stunning beauty even within the urban area. Killiney and Dalkey to the south of the city are spectacular cliff top areas and similarly in the north near the airport, you have the magnificent Howth Head providing stunning views of Dublin Bay.
If your ambition is to see in your lifetime the most scenic attraction the globe can offer, make sure you include Ireland as a port of call, for when the time comes to do your evaluation of all you have discovered in your worldly travels, my guess is that the Emerald Isle will be up at or near the top of your list.

Daily Disney – Small World Platypuses

I know I’m in the minority here, but I actually enjoy the attraction It’s a Small World for what it is, and this room – the Polynesian is my favorite. I love the music in this room and of course the design that goes along with it. I shot this with the 105mm f/2.8, which gave me great depth of field, but not a whole lot of shots that weren’t at least slightly blurred.

Top Ten lists are a dime a dozen on the web and one that crops up more often than most is travel-related lists with outlandish titles such as Top 10 Places You Must See Before You Die and other such morbid titles. This list is similar however we don’t see the necessity to insert the Before You Die bit, although it would be useful to visit these cities before you shuffle off this mortal coil.
When it came to choosing the appropriate criteria for selecting these cities, many statistics and facts were taken into account, before being readily dismissed in favor of the most crucial method of consideration of all … my humble opinion. So forgive me if your own favourite city is not included. I know how you feel as despite my best efforts to sneak one of my own personal favorite cities Dublin into this list, logic dictated that a Top 10 list would look a bit weird if it had 11 cities.
Now the next hurdle to overcome was to decide whether to categorise the cities on a graded basis from 10 down to 1 or take the lazy way and just sort them alphabetically, suffice to say, the lazy way was the landslide winner.
Bangkok
Bangkok is a massive sprawling city that offers charms galore. Bangkok is dotted with historical palaces and temples that offer a glimpse into the city’s ancient history, yet Bangkok offers much more than beautiful temples and glorious palaces. It comfortably nestles at the forefront of Asia’s most visited cities attracting millions of tourists each year. Majestic sites such as The Temple of the Dawn and The Marble Temple should not be missed. Lumphinee Park offers a diversion from Bangkok’s bustling city streets. Bangkok is a modern city that encompasses a bustling nightlife, supreme shopping experiences, delicious aromas that fill up the senses from the many gorgeous restaurants and marketplaces. Bangkok’s wonderful architecture and soothing climate solidifies its deserved place in this list and indeed why it so frequently crops up on similar lists.
Las Vegas
Well it had to be didn’t it? Surely no list of this nature could be complete without Sin City itself, Vegas. Vegas falls into the category of love it or hate it for most people and with visitor numbers increasing each year it seems most people love it. The Entertainment Capital of the World does not disappoint. Where else can you go for a gondola cruise in the morning, see the Grand Canyon in the afternoon and be back in time to see shows such as Siegfried & Roy, Cirque du Soleil and similar headline acts in the afternoon? Ok it’s not everyone’s cup of tea but it is a city that has to be seen to be believed. Oh, and did I mention you can also gamble there apparently.
London
Ok the weather is not ideal, and the food can be mediocre but no list of this ilk would be complete without including London. It has attractions and sights for people of all ages and is a cosmopolitan city on a grand scale. Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, London Eye, Tower of London is just a few of the majestic attractions in England’s capital city. If it’s good enough for The Queen well it’s good enough for me, just don’t forget your brolly.
New York City
So good they named it twice as the saying goes and there few cities in the world that offer the amount of iconic landmarks and attractions that New York can. Even leaving aside world famous attractions and sights such as The Empire State Building, The Statue of Liberty, and Times Square, New York is such a vibrant pulsating city that it has more than enough to tempt visitors going back time after time. It is one of the world’s great shopping cities, has a nightlife second to none and has often been referred to as one of the world’s great cities. You won’t find an argument here.
Paris
I would like to say it was the romantic side in me that welcomes Paris to this list, but it is not, it is because it deservedly nestles here as it as a European heartbeat of culture, beauty and indeed romance and offers some of the most beautiful and majestic sights on the planet. The Eiffel Tower one of the most famous landmarks in the world proudly stands tall in this city that also is graced by Champs Elysees, Notre Dame and The Louvre. The Louvre is home to The Mona Lisa whose ageless beauty bewilders generation after generation. Paris should not be missed.
Rome
This historic city, known as The Eternal City, has some of the most historical sights in the world such as The Pantheon, The Coliseum and The Roman Forum. St Peter’s Basilica is just one of the many glorious churches in Rome, and is an essential visit while in the city. Trevi Fountain is yet another treat in this majestic city. And no it wasn’t built in a day.
San Francisco
The Bay area of California is home to one of America’s most popular destination retreats San Francisco as well as being one of the country’s most liberal cities. The hilly streets are as familiar as perhaps the city’s most famous landmark, The Golden Gate Bridge. The Bay itself sparkles under the warm sun whilst San Francisco is also renowned for its famous cable cars. The twisty streets in Lombard Street are another essential visit whilst harbor tours often include a trip to Alcatraz, the famous, though now inactive, prison. San Fran is a warm wonderful city with a new treasure each time you come, and no, you don’t need to wear flowers in your hair.
Sydney
Beautiful beaches, breathtaking sights and the famous Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge entwined with the beautiful weather and cosmopolitan cuisine make Sydney an unmissable city. The city is a hotbed of activity and one of the friendliest on the planet. Darling Harbour offers enthralling sights and attractions including museums, stunning hotels and shopping whilst The Rocks provides charm in abundance. Sydney Opera House is one of the most recognisable buildings of modern times and is an essential visit. Sydney has it all culture, arts, scenery, climate, and often tops Most liveable city polls. It’s not hard to see why.
Tokyo
A metropolis city on a grand scale Tokyo is a vibrant almost futuristic city that engulfs one’s senses from the start. Tokyo revels in shrines, museums, temples and the city’s Imperial Palace. Sensoji Temple reigns amongst Tokyo’s enduring sights along with The Meiji Shrine and The Imperial Palace itself. Museums align the streets competing with restaurants and shops of all descriptions. Those seeking a more modern approach have options like Tokyo Tower, Tokyo Dome City and Tokyo Disneyland. There’s truly something for everyone in this great city.
Venice
Many cities claim to be unique, and indeed many are but few can compare to Venice’s quirky charm and decidedly unique canals that transcend across the city. Romantic gondola rides alone do not capture the entire beauty of this marvellous city. St Marks Basilica is a glorious church that often has long lines to visit. It nestles in St Marks Square a wonderful open square with charming coffee shops and is a hive of activity as it is one of the most photographed parts of Venice. Doges Palace, The Bridge of Sighs, and The Rialto Bridge are further landmarks of this extraordinary city.

Amsterdam
Amsterdam (pronounced /ˈæmstərdæm/; Dutch Nl-Amsterdam.ogg [ɑmstərˈdɑm] (help·info)) is the capital and largest city of the Netherlands, located in the province of North Holland in the west of the country. The city, which had a population (including suburbs) of 1.36 million on 1 January 2008, comprises the northern part of the Randstad, the sixth-largest metropolitan area in Europe, with a population of around 6.7 million.
Its name is derived from Amstellerdam, indicative of the city’s origin: a dam in the river Amstel. Settled as a small fishing village in the late 12th century, Amsterdam became one of the most important ports in the world during the Dutch Golden Age, a result of its innovative developments in trade. During that time, the city was the leading centre for finance and diamonds. In the 19th and 20th centuries, the city expanded, and many new neighbourhoods and suburbs were formed. The seventeenth-century canals of Amsterdam (in Dutch: ‘Grachtengordel’), located in the heart of Amsterdam, was added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in July 2010.
The city is the financial and cultural capital of the Netherlands. Many large Dutch institutions have their headquarters there, and 7 of the world’s top 500 companies, including Philips and ING, are based in the city. In 2010, Amsterdam was ranked 13th globally on quality of living by Mercer, and previously ranked 3rd in innovation by 2thinknow in the Innovation Cities Index 2009.
The Amsterdam Stock Exchange, the oldest stock exchange in the world, is located in the city centre. Amsterdam’s main attractions, including its historic canals, the Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum, Stedelijk Museum, Hermitage Amsterdam, Anne Frank House, its red-light district, and its many cannabis coffee shops draw more than 3.66 million international visitors annually.

Everyone knows that we need 4 Years of waiting to get involve Olympic Games. But now the games are quickly approaching, taking the host by China – one of the powerful countries in the world. Putting the controversy over the host aside, the Beijing Games 2008 is shaping up to be great. The facilities are simply astonishing. The Beijing National Stadium, nick-named the bird-nest, is certainly a unique piece of architecture. Herzog & de Meuron Architekten AG, a Swiss firm, won the bid to begin construction way back in 2003. Their other notable works include the Allianz Arena in Munich and the Tate Modern in London. The venue will have a seating capacity of 80,000.
With a newly designed, high-speed metro train service to help transport tourists to events and main attractions, visitors coming to the ancient metropolis are also presented with a series of user-friendly, innovative travel itineraries on the Beijing event website.
On testing the new train system from the airport terminal, Chinese President Hu Jintao told a group of foreigners that the country was ready to “open its arms and welcome all of the friends of the world to come.” Certainly, the city has not looked more attractive.
Among the must-see attractions, such as the famous Forbidden City – where visitors can stroll through the residences of China’s former emperors – and the monolithic Great Wall of China, the Beijing tourism authority has suggested a number of culinary and nightlife hotspots too.
On the list, include the happening Houhai Bar Street and famous restaurants Kaorou Ji and Dasanyuan. But tourists looking for a taste off the beaten track, should aim for restaurants recommended or populated by locals
Other recommendations include visiting the Drum Tower, Beijing’s ‘Big Ben’ and original time-keeper. Around the tower is an antique market worth exploring and the bustling Hutong fruit market. Other interesting parts of Beijing include the Underground City near Tiananmen Square, a subterranean network built when the country feared Soviet invasion in the 1960s and the Ancient Observatory, an incredibly preserved Tibetan temple.
Despite the full of joys you’ll certainly receive from friendly sport competitions atmosphere, if you have a chance to visit China during Olympic 2008, it might also be decent chance to get to know more about this giant country as every people in China see this world’s major sport event as an opportunity to dazzle the world. Traveling around, Shanghai is one of the China’s top destinations as such.

Although I much prefer the overall look and feel of the "Peter Pan’s Flight" exterior of Disneyland (if you haven’t seen it search for pictures, it’s pretty cool), I really like this detail and the rest of the Peter Pan characters they’ve put up on the building at the Magic Kingdom.

Quick Fact: The original intent of the Disneyland version of this attraction was for the guests to fly through the ride as if they were Peter Pan. Audiences did not quite grasp this concept and were left wondering, "Why wasn’t Peter Pan in the Peter Pan ride?"
Thanks for droppin’ in!
