The job of a travel journalist is truly envious in nature. He gets to travel, click photographs, blog…moreover he is paid for such things. One usually explores such activities while traveling, while a travel journalist does this on regular basis. In fact, one such journalist who recently traveled to Koh Samui gave us a brief about the various attractions at the place.

According to him, “Phallic rocks in Koh Samui are very popular, not only with foreigners, but with localities also. Meaning Grandfather and grandmother rocks. As per the local legend, the rocks represent two fated lovers who drowned themselves in the sea, because their families disapproved of their relationship.”

He even said that the street around the rocks is lined with stalls selling a nice range of coconut wood products and garamear - Samui’s own coconut candy, which is rarely available elsewhere on the island.

Another popular attraction on Koh Samui is the Big Buddha shrine on the northern coast. It is probably the most well known landmark of Samui.  It is a 12 meter high golden Buddha can be seen from several kilometers away.

Within the surrounding temple are many different shrines and other smaller elaborate Buddha statues. There is also a tiny market selling a wide range of lucky charms and other souvenirs, alongside numerous food stalls.
