Book Travel Deals and Getaways Online and Save
Travel Deals And Getaways can save you many dollars. However, these bargain travel deals and getaways aren’t always easy to find.
Should you be looking for something specific or a specific location, there isn’t always an online travel deal to get you there. Suppose you wanted to visit the O’leary Potato Museum in O’leary, PEI, Canada. I very much doubt you will find it in a list of Travel Deals And Getaways. Travel Deals And Getaways are usually part of a purchase from a consolidator.
A consolidator company is a company that buys large quantities of bulk tickets from the airlines or has a contract of its own with the airlines. They usually get very low fares. Some of these consolidators sell tickets only to travel agents while others may sell them directly to the traveler. This makes consolidators one of the best sources for bargain travel deals and getaways because they are usually cheaper than the lowest published fares from the airlines. Some consolidators represent the airline and have the authority to act as a sales agent for the airline itself, but not all travel consolidators have this authority. Many distribute their discounted fares via travel agents and travel web sites only, where they’re made available to the public.
You can purchase discounted tickets from consolidators directly but they are usually for only one aspect of your travel, for example, air fares, and you have to go searching for the rest of your trip like your lodging, transportation, etc.
Something to consider If you decide to use a consolidator: Different consolidators may offer different prices for the same destination. Shop around. Always buy your tickets with a credit card, even if you have to pay a bit more. Then if you never get the tickets you can get a refund from your credit card company. Airlines usually reserve the right to change the fares on consolidator tickets at any time, so the fares are not guaranteed until you actually receive the ticket. Consolidators will frequently charge you any difference in price between when you have purchased the tickets and when you received them. Deal with a local consolidator if you possibly can. Be sure to pick up your own tickets where ever possible. Check out the company first. If they belong to a local BBB it is a good start. Consolidators, as a general rule, do not accept credit cards. The Credit card transaction fees they have to pay eats up a large percentage of their profits. You will often see a cash discount of a few percentage points to overcome this. Be sure to call the airline just as soon as you get your tickets to validate them as authentic. There are a few scam artists which spoil it for everyone. Consolidators are now also buying up blocks of hotel rooms and selling them at steep discounts. This is great for us travelers. Travel Deals And Getaways through what is often called, “Dynamic Packaging” is a method that is becoming increasingly used in package holiday bookings. It enables consumers to build their own packages of flights, accommodation, car rentals, etc. instead of just booking a pre-defined package. This allows for a customized vacation plan and if done through a reputable online booking agency, the process can be just as enjoyable as the trip.
The perfect gift for a child is personalized book

Personalized Books for Boys
If buying a gift for a boy, a superhero book is a great way to spark his reading interests. He can imagine that he’s “saving the world” with his favorite superhero while reading the book. Or, he can go camping on a mountainous adventure as a bear with his bear family. He can help save a circus train, or participate in fun Mother Goose rhymes!
Personalized Books for Girls
Little girls also love reading children’s books before bedtime or during playtime. With their personalized book, they can become a ballerina princess or join a tea party with friends while learning about good table manners. Girls also enjoy sticker books where they can interact and learn as they read.
Gift Occasions
Personalized books can be given to children at almost any occasion. At birth, these make great baby books. They are perfect gifts for kindergarten graduation ceremonies, Christmas, birthdays, and any other occasion. Personalized books are also wonderful keepsakes. Whether it’s your grandchild, daughter, son, niece, or nephew, a book with their own name is sure to win their heart.
Encourage Reading
Personalized books not only make great gifts, they provide a great way for you to encourage your “little loved one” to read. Some children naturally love to read, but others need incentive. What better way to create a desire to read than placing the child in the actual story? They will want to read the story when they are the main character. Personalized books help to build self-esteem. They give the child a sense of pride knowing that he or she can be the hero or he or she can be the problem solver.
Shopping for Personalized Books
One of the easiest ways to find high-quality personalized books at great prices is to shop online. You can search for the type of book you want and order it from your own personal computer. Some websites might allow you to ship the book as a gift directly to the recipient. What a surprise when the child receives a package in the mail with his or her name on it “and” a book where he or she is the star.
While shopping for personalized books, you can also grab other great gifts for your loved ones of all ages. Online you’ll also find baby books, retirement books, inspirational books, holiday books, and other unique gifts to fit all occasions.

New Book Shows Bond of Army Wives During the Turbulent Vietnam War Years
On the coattails of the new hit TV show, Army Wives, comes a blockbuster hit novel from Phyllis Zimbler Miller. MRS. LIEUTENANT is getting rave reviews and gives us our “army wives” fix when relaxing by the poolside or by the beach instead of the TV.
In the spring of 1970 – right after the Kent State National Guard shootings and President Nixon´s two-month incursion into Cambodia – four newly married young women come together at Ft. Knox, Kentucky, when their husbands go on active duty as officers in the U.S. Army.
Different as these four women are, they have one thing in common: Their overwhelming fear that, right after these nine weeks of training, their husbands could be shipped out to Vietnam – and they could become war widows.
Sharon is a Northern Jewish anti-war protester who fell in love with an ROTC cadet; Kim is a Southern Baptist whose husband is intensely jealous; Donna is a Puerto Rican who grew up in an enlisted man´s family; and Wendy is a Southern black whose parents have sheltered her from the brutal reality of racism in America.
Read MRS. LIEUTENANT to discover what happens as these women overcome their prejudices, reveal their darkest secrets, and are initiated into their new lives as army officers´ wives during the turbulent Vietnam War period.
MRS. LIEUTENANT was a semi-finalist for the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Award.
Phyllis is a former Mrs. Lieutenant and lives with her husband in Los Angeles. The co-author of the Jewish holiday book “Seasons for Celebration,” she has written a success guide for teens. She welcomes messages and visitors at her website at www.mrslieutenant.com or her blog at www.mrslieutenant.blogspot.com.
Don’t forget to renew your Travel Insurance before you book a trip
Many people take out annual travel insurance either individually or for a couple or family. The great thing about this is that you have peace of mind and if you are taking holidays throughout the year you don’t have to keep on buying new insurance. This is rather like when you take out an annual car hire excess insurance policy. The insurance provider would normally notify the policyholder that the policy is about to expire and if it is not renewed then cover will stop immediately. These reminders would either be by post or by email. People often leave it till the last minute or till after they have just booked a break for a few days away several weeks in advance. In the intervening period they would remember to renew the policy. What happens if you foreget, you have made a flight / ferry booking and have an accident before you travel? You are going to have a bit a problem. This occurred recently with someone I know where the flight was booked, it was not going to be till a month later, but the traveller forgot to renew or take out the family travel insurance. A week or so after the booking was made one of the family had an injury whilst playing cricket on a Saturday afternoon. Two days earlier the Travel insurance had expired and it looks like this person won’t be able to fly in three weeks time because of the injury. This means that they will not be able to claim this time. Always renew your Travel Insurance when you get the reminder. It should then be effective from the date of renewal and if you make a holiday booking you should be covered. If you are making a holiday booking and you don’t have an annual policy, make sure you immediately take out Travel Insurance cover. You never know what is around the corner and you could easily trip over your favourite garden gnome ten minutes after booking, injure your leg and not be able to get on the plane the following week.

It’s vast approaching that time of year again when everyone around you seems to have a holiday booked and excitement overcomes them, and for you this can feel not only depressing but utterly miserable. Jealousy takes over and you can’t comprehend how unfair this situation is, everyone needs something to look forward to after all!
The next door neighbour keeps ranting on about Majorca, the woman in the corner shop is talking Greece and the In-Laws have mentioned Tenerife…one or two times too many! That dreaded question keeps popping up…have you got anything booked yet? And you feel like screaming NO I HAVE NOT!! But politely as ever respond with a simple ‘not yet no’.

The time is going to come when you need to get away, but looking ahead the holidays seem pretty pricey! All Inclusive to the neighbours Majorca is in the four figures region which doesn’t seem right, it’s only a couple of hours away and to be honest, if you’re going to go away, you want to go further!
Greece holidays are looking pretty good, the weather will be great in the summer and two weeks their is not too expensive, however, Greece is another Country using Euros which could produce another sting once their. Sitting around four hours away from home is better than the two it takes to fly to Majorca, but, is that as far as you can get?

Why You Should Book Holidays Online
I remember how I used book holidays before I had access to the Internet. In many senses, things seemed so much more simple back then. Most of us would make our way down to a local travel agent. This is where we’d be looking to make our holiday bookings.
We’d be presented with an assortment of holiday brochures. Looking back, it’s amazing to see just how little information was really contained in such brochures. We might expect to find only a small paragraph describing a particular resort.
There might be even less information about individual hotels. As a result, we might largely be basing our holiday decisions on a relatively small amount of knowledge. There was, of course, the opportunity to ask the staff in the store for assistance.
But these staff could not be expected to know an enormous amount of information about each of the thousands of holidays that they were tasked with selling. In essence, this whole approach to holiday bookings was something of a lucky dip.
The Internet has transformed the way in which we now make such bookings. It gives us the opportunity to carry out an enormous amount of research before we come to make a booking. That means that we can find out a lot about particular resource or hotels.
But this is by no means the only advantage. We can now easily compare prices to. This gives us a much better chance of finding fantastic holidays at discount prices. There really is no excuse for paying more than you need to.
That’s why many people have come to realise that it makes sense to make holiday bookings online. This gives you the best opportunity to make savings and to have a holiday that you will truly enjoy.
Are you Getting Ready to Book your Holiday?
With Christmas over and the New Year upon us many of us are now starting to think about booking a summer holiday. January can be a gloomy time of year, with most people suffering a financial hangover and bad weather to put up with to boot. This is why so many of us like to start looking at holidays, so that we have something exciting to look forward to as we get back to the post-Christmas routine of humdrum life.
January is a good time to book your summer holiday, as – like most other retailers – many travel agents have special deals and sales on when it comes to holiday, so you can pick up a really good deal on your package, flight, hotel, etc. However, one major problem is that many of us are pretty much broke by the time January comes around, which means that we either wait and miss out on some potentially great holiday offers or we look at other ways of paying for the holiday so that we can take advantage of any special January bargains.
If you are pretty much spent up after the Christmas and New Year period but you want to book that bargain holiday so that you don’t miss out you will find that your credit card could come in very handy. However, first of all you need to check what sort of credit card you have and when you intend to repay the cost of the holiday.
If you are looking to spread the cost of the holiday over a period of time to increase affordability you may find that a 0% purchase credit card is the best choice for you, as this will enable you to pay for your holiday and even any items that you need to take with you, and you can then spread the repayment over the specified interest free period so you won’t have to pay any interest in order to get that holiday booked.
If you feel that your finances will be in order within a matter of weeks, and you therefore plan to repay the full cost of the holiday within a month or so, you could opt for a rewards based credit card. Paying off the balance in full within the month means that you will not be charged any interest, and by using the card to book your holiday you can earn valuable rewards, which could be anything from travel rewards and air miles to cash back or discounts depending on the type of rewards based card you opt for.
