Booking a Holiday, Tour or Vacation in Japan
In my capacity as the UK Director of Operations for One World Tours Limited, I am often asked about the destinations I have been to. I try to give a good opinion on those places and offer some helpful advice. Here then, are my top suggestions for sites to take in during your holiday in Japan.
Made up of four major islands and surrounded by more than 4,000 smaller islands Japan has coastlines with varied scenery. The country also offers imposing mountains, which are very often volcanic and amazing valleys that encompass the onlooker with the magical world of nature. Being covered with over 70% of forest and mountains makes it unsuitable for any inhabitants. That however does not alter the fact that Japan is the thirtieth most densely populated country in the world.
With many hot springs in this country, they have given rise to some stunning resorts.
Tokyo, Japan’s city is a modern city of which is full of wonderful diversity. There are many sacred shrines and temples that hold there own amongst the imposing might of the skyscrapers.
The Tokyo Disney Resort in Chiba, is a holiday and recreation resort which has become the most popular and most visited theme park in the world since it was opened in 1983.
Mount Fuji is stunningly impressive and standing at a stunning 12,388 ft., has earned it the title of the tallest mountain in Japan. The Japanese revere this majestic mountain and use it as a symbol to the very spirit of their country. The best viewing place for Mount Fuji is Hakone and although it is almost always shrouded in clouds on a clear day the peak becomes visible.

Lake Ashi can be found in the volcanically active Izu National Park in Japan. The lake is breathtaking and was apparently formed in the caldera of Mt. Hakone 3000 years ago after the volcano’s last eruption. This is a popular tourist attraction which is well known for its hot springs and stunning views of Mt. Fuji on a clear day.
You will have the opportunity to take cruise boats resembling pirate ships along the lake where some small towns are located on the shore.

Hiroshima is the largest city in the Chugoku region on the largest of Japan’s islands and was rebuilt after World War II.
You cannot mention Hiroshima without it conjuring up the reminder that it was the first place in history to be subjected to an atomic bomb by the United States of America.
Thankfully in modern times, new buildings have grown all over the city. Now proclaimed as a City of Peace by the Japanese parliament, Hiroshima has become the seemingly appropriate place for holding international conferences on peace.
Booking a Holiday, Tour or Vacation in Morocco
In my capacity as the UK Director of Operations for One World Tours Limited, I am often asked about the destinations I have been to. I try to give a good opinion on those places and offer some helpful advice. Here then, are my top suggestions for sites to take in during your holiday in Morocco.
Morocco is located at the northwest of Africa and is bordered in the north by the strait of Gibraltar and the Mediterranean sea. The weather in Morocco is mainly of a is Mediterranean nature. The Atlantic ocean keeps the west and the north of the country more temperate.
The weather varies greatly the further into the country that you travel for example the Atlas area of Morocco is very humid, whilst in the south it is more of a desert feel.
With its vibrant bazaars, ancient capitals such as Fès and Marrakech and fantastic mountain scenery, Morocco is a wonderful destination.
The country also offers the broadest plains some which run along the Atlantic ocean and the highest mountains in North Africa including the Atlas mountains.
Starting with the symbol of Morocco, Marrakech is a beautiful city that has remained unspoiled by the volume of tourists that flock there each year. One of the finest monuments in Morocco is greatly benefited by this amount of tourism.
Actually their high volume contributes in a positive way to preserve one of the greatest monuments of Morocco.
Marrakech is a wonderful place with its colourful markets and town square of Jamaâ El Fna. It also has a gem of a garden known as the Menara Gardens a romantic place away from the hustle and bustle.
Fes is the third largest city in Morocco and is the capital of the Fes-Boulemane Region. It is separated into three parts, Fes el Bali more commonly known as the old walled city, now classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Fes-Jdid and the Ville Nouvelle. Fes el Bali is believed to be the largest car-free urban area in the world. Fez is a splendid place to visit to heighten the senses with the colours, smells and sounds.
Casablanca is an enormous city which is essentially the capital of Morocco and a place where any European would feel at home. Casablanca was made famous by the movie and gives the impression of being a romantic place. Unfortunately like many other popular cities around the world, it is crowded noisy and polluted a far cry from the romantic ideal of the film. Because it has the biggest port, Casablanca being the economic capital of Morocco, has everything that the tourist needs.
Asilah is a City in which is situated on the Atlantic Ocean and has one of the most stunning old cities of Morocco. The city is set along the cliffs which makes it beautifully presented and an ideal place to continue adding to its economy by the fishermen. The economy is also reliant on the trading of cattle, sheep and cereal. If you are having a holiday in Morocco during August then you will be fortunate enough to experience one of Asilahs’ cultural festivals where you can enjoy the lively music and wonderful paintings.
The Atlas Mountains fill most of the north west corner of Africa which are divided into 5 regions some of which encompass Morocco including the Middle Atlas, High Atlas and Anti Atlas.
The Sahara desert well what can I say get on a camel and experience it for your self!
Booking a Holiday, Tour or Vacation in Kenya
In my capacity as the UK Director of Operations for One World Tours Limited, I am often asked about the destinations I have been to. I try to give a good opinion on those places and offer some helpful advice. Here then, are my top suggestions for sites to take in during your holiday in Kenya.
Nowhere in Africa is there a more popular adventure destination than Kenya which is located on the equator. If it is a safari that you want then tourists from across the world can rest assured that Kenya is the best place to experience one. If you believed that a safari is all that this country has to offer then you have been misinformed as there are far many other attractions and a diversity of environments to experience. In the north east, the landscape of the country is flat and covered with bushes. The rest of the country has immaculate beaches, many lake areas, the amazing Mount Kenya and of course the stunning Great Rift Valley. Despite Kenya having many diverse environments which in turn experience a wide variety of climate conditions, the temperature is warm all year-round. June though to September are the best months to visit for most outdoor activities including safari and mountain climbing.
How can you visit Africa without experiencing the Masai Mara Game Reserve as it is generally considered to be the greatest wildlife reserve in Africa.
With the Acacia forests swarming with birds and monkeys and the sprawling grasslands which are scattered with herds of Zebra, Giraffe, and Gazelle you know that you are deep in the heart of Africa. Elephants and Buffalo wallow in the wide swamps and the rivers are heaving with Hippos and Crocodiles which make this a wildlife paradise and possibly one of the few places left on earth where such a diversity of animals can be seen in their natural habitats. Where else can you witness the Great Wildebeest Migration from the Serengeti, the lions that dominate the grasslands, the cheetahs, hyenas and jackals. This wonderful place is also home to the Masai warriors all helping to make this a very popular attraction.
Other National Parks include the Tsavo East (home to the Mudanda Rock and the Yatta Plateau, the world’s largest lava flow) and Tsavo West National Park (has many recent geological activities), Amboseli(at the foot of Mt. Kilimanjaro), Nairobi National Park (Kenya’s rhino sanctuary), Nakuru (home to a swarm of brilliant pink flamingos as far as the eye can see) and Meru (home to the famous “Elsa” lioness of the book Born free). Each of these parks have something different to offer the tourist so which ever one you choose you will not be disappointed.
Mt. Kenya, a dome-shaped central volcano is the largest mountain in Kenya with 10 glaciers covering its peaks. The mountain is made up of several types of volcanic rocks the most common being basalt.
Lamu is a tranquil tropical island where life is relaxed and laid back. It has a mystical history because of the medieval stone town which is situated there.
With a landscape of beautiful undulating dunes and beaches that appear to go on forever and where tiny villages are encompassed among coconut and mango plantations, Lamu is an island that respects this beauty by having no vehicles using the donkey and dhow as the main form of transport. The people of Lamu are great believers in tradition and custom and because of this they have maintained a strong society which is built around their respect for the past so we can reap the benefits.
Malindi is a town on Malindi Bay which lies on the Indian Ocean coast of Kenya. It is a very popular place with tourists who flock to visit the Watamu resort and Gedi Ruins (the remains of a Swahili town) which are close by. The whole area shows amazing examples of Swahili architecture which has been a Swahili settlement for hundreds of years. The Malindi Marine National Park and the Watamu National park form a continuous protected coastal area south of Malindi. There are many traditional buildings that survive today, including the Juma Mosque which was used until the 1870’s, for trading slaves.
Cheap Travel – How to Vacation on a Budget
Vacations are a great way to relax, and it is possible to find a great deal whether you are on a budget or not. For those who are on a budget, there are a few sure fire ways to make traveling interesting and enjoyable while keeping a close eye on your funds. Taking time to research your destination and frugalness once you are there can combine to give you a wonderful trip that you will remember for years, even if you are still paying for it years later.
Public attractions are the key when it comes to places to go. Though it may be fun to visit amusement parks and private museums, if you want to get the most bang for your buck you should visit public attractions, such as parks. Most national, state or city museums, even the largest ones, can be visited for a reasonable price. The cost gets high when it comes to visiting the select, featured exhibits, but you can have a wonderful time sticking to the basics and paying less. Another museum trick centers on when you visit. Many museums are open for free (often with the option of making a donation) on certain days of the week. Some cities will actually have one day each week in which every government sponsored museum/attraction is opened for free. The Philadelphia Museum of Art, for example, is free on Sundays. If you do your homework well you could potentially hop from city to city, or museum to museum from day to day and spend money only for transportation, food and lodging.
If you happen to be travelling in Europe try the European Union Rail. The company offers packages that allow you to travel through a certain number of countries in a certain number of days taking as many trains as you need for one set price. If you align your travel schedule so that you are on the train overnight, you can avoid paying for lodging for the day’s activity. This is just one example of how research and preparation is the best way to finding bargains and successfully travelling on a budget. Oftentimes, public areas and landmarks have the greatest value.
Another variety of public attractions are concerts, theatre and other performing arts. City and national governments take steps to show off their cultural achievements. Due to this, cities are likely to hold major performances, exhibitions and fairs either free of charge or for such low prices that they can attract a large, diverse crowd. Also, since these events are funded by the city they tend to be well done. No city wants to look culturally out of step when the event is designed to display the cities cultural highlights and achievements.
Public parks are another great option for travelling on a budget. State parks, battlefields and early settlements are all popular and very inexpensive destinations that work for history and nature buffs alike. These destinations are great for the entire family. Outdoor activities give everybody the chance to move around and experience the area they are visiting. The Jamestown Settlement in Virginia is a good example of this. At one place you can visit a rebuilt version of the settlement filled with live actors and re-enactments of the way things were in colonial times. This attraction is labeled a living museum, and there are many like it. All of this can be seen for roughly 10-20 dollars per person, depending on age. If that is not reasonable enough, you can go a few miles down the road and visit the Historic Jamestowne National Park. This park encompasses the original colony and includes some live actors, original buildings, a small museum and archeological excavations. Not to mention walking trails and the freedom to simply enjoy the park. Entry for this park is free for anybody under the age of fifteen and so inexpensive that a seven day pass is only ten dollars. There are many parks like this around the world, which allow any traveler on a tight budget the capability to visit many beautiful places for a very low price. Lodging still can be an issue when travelling on a budget, no matter how well planned your vacation may be. If you are in Europe, try finding a hostel to stay in. Hostels may not be quite as comfortable as hotels, but they are generally cheap. This option is best for young people, who are more inclined to rough it, but you can find individuals from all walks of life at a hostel. Camping, or using an RV can also serve to keep the price down when it comes to long trips, and are better suited to accommodate a family.
With a bit of research and preparation, it can be easy to travel on a small budget. The main costs fall to transportation and lodging. Flights are expensive, and so is gas. If you plan on driving a lot, renting a fuel efficient car could keep the gas prices down enough to save you extra money. Take as much time possible to plan, and you can have a very enjoyable vacation for a very affordable price.

Your Summer Vacation Booking Options
We continue seeing a big number of people, couples and families wanting to take the ever preferred summer holiday. We also see the same trends, from some individuals wishing to come back to their favourite resort to travelers who want to try something exciting and new ( to them ). Another maybe plain trend is the rise in accessing the Net. Again, this varies from looking for more info on a summer holiday spot to using online travel and Vacations services to make precise holiday bookings. Definitely , for some kinds of summer holiday this may be advantageous because of the online kickbacks that may be available. Hence when talking about booking a summer holiday, what are the booking options to consider? I know this is going to sound ‘stupid’ but before making summer holiday reservations, you will need to choose the tangible summer vacation spot. Without a destination under consideration, it is not possible to make any bookings. When choosing a summer vacation what are the crucial factors we want to keep in mind? Whenever it’s possible, I really like to encourage folk to think about their summer holiday as starting from the minute they leave their home to the minute they return and, in doing hence consider… * traveling with youngsters * the age of the youngsters * traveling with old age pensioners * traveling with disabled family members * likes and dislikes * comprehensive desires and ‘nice to haves’ * total price of travel * the seven out of ten principle The 7 out of ten principle basically means that if we will not match 100 pc of our wants to a summer holiday choice, the more ‘boxes’ we tick, the bigger the likelihood that we are able to decide on the summer holiday destination that will most closely fit your wishes, so making sure we will have the best summer holiday achievable. Now, we are able to think about tangible bookings and reservations. I suspect the one possibility is to not to order anything in any way. Exciting and fun – perhaps. Yes, there are parks, motels, hostels, camping sites where it’s not always critical to book ahead. In spite of the indisputable fact that reservations would possibly not be needed, I’d always inspire travelers to make their reservations. Highly popular summer holiday destinations fill up fast. Aside from that, while it could be fun handling the doubt when we’re on our own or a pair, imagine taking care of 3 babies or old family members and not finding a place to stay. At the other end of the booking option decisions, some folks prefer to use pro services like travel agents particularly if they’re known to cater for certain summer holiday destinations or focus on catering for certain groups. Others will use them solely from the perspective of convenience – decide, book the holiday, now let’s get back to work! The drawback of this option is that these services can come at a cost. Hence for the budget conscious or for those attempting to find that something slightly different, this won’t be the most suitable choice to take. If you have some time, read some of the other ‘summer holiday’ articles that might help in deciding the best choice for you. With the provision of info online and the summer vacation booking facilities also available for anything from car hire and flights to bed-and-breakfast and 5 star hostels, more folk are making their own reservations. For many it’s a ton of fun doing the study, finding the neatest deals and developing their own unique summer holiday. As discussed earlier, so long as the majority of the boxes are ticked, it can then take only 1 or 2 minutes to have the entire holiday from flights to accommodation scheduled inside a few mins. Let’s have a recap… With overnite stays, most families may like the convenience and services offered by hostels and motels. Others like the outside staying in parks, camping sites. Though reservations might not be needed, booking your preferred accommodation ahead, makes sure that you’re assured a place to rest your folks or set up your tent. Researching online provides the chance to either make your own unique summer holiday or to order a well-liked vacation location at a reduced price. ( you might need to weigh up this option against package deals where ‘extras’ might be included as a part of the deal. These ‘extras’ may only be open to you at a price if coordinating the holiday yourself ). It is usually worth checking these things first before arranging a reservation commitment.

Soap Boosts 2008 Malta Vacation Bookings
Europe’s favourite TV soap and the world’s longest running drama, Coronation Street, has boosted interest in the island of Malta, according to a UK based Malta holidays guide.
Aired in the summer, the soap ran a storyline of two of Coronation Street’s characters taking a last minute holiday to the island. The episodes featured Eileen, played by Sue Cleaver and Steve, played by Simon Gregson initially in the capital Valletta, before heading to a hotel by the Mediterranean.
Their arrival on Malta starts ominously as the island’s hotels are fully booked, but Steve manages to get a shared room after visiting the tourist office.
‘Despite the difficulty in finding suitable accommodation as Steve had booked last minute flights but not a hotel, the episodes showing Malta showed the island in a good light’, according to a Malta travel guide. ‘ The timing was good as the programmes ran at the peak of the holiday booking season, and with millions of viewers it helps Malta to be considered along with British holiday favourites like Majorca not just for a summer holiday next year but for the autumn this year too, boosting Malta’s holidays and hotels industry’.
The number of visitors to the travel guide’s internet site more than doubled on the evenings immediately after the episodes featuring Malta were screened compared to normal, and the overall impact is still bringing benefits.
‘Even on the days between the programmes being aired we were seeing a much higher volume of visitors than we normally get’, they say, ‘while we don’t expect dramatically increased visitor numbers for much longer, overall Coronation Street featuring Malta will be enough for many millions of viewers in the UK to consider Malta as a holiday destination in the future, and the power of Coronation Street’s appeal will outlast any tourist board television campaign because it’s independent, and they portrayed Malta in a positive light.’
Coronation Street was first aired in 1960, with just a few episodes planned, but has evolved to become the world’s longest running soap. Viewing figures in the UK regularly top ten million viewers an episode, and as recently as April this year reached twelve million. In addition to reaching Malta’s prime UK market, additional benefit for the Malta holiday industry would come from Canada and Australia, where the show is aired some weeks after the UK.
The stories centre around a fictional cobbled street in the north of England, a suburb of Manchester, with a pub called the Rovers Return at one end, and a corner shpo at the other, with a row of terrace houses between, setting for the home lives and dramas of the characters.
Spread over the 47 years since Coronation Street first began, storylines have includes murders, teenage pregnancies and other issues reflecting the real lives of British people living in a big city.
Famous actors and actresses who have appeared in the soap include Lord of the Rings actor Sir Ian McKellen, Norman Wisdom and perhaps most unlikely of all Prince Charles, in the 40th anniversary edition.
The Malta holidays industry hope for a return visit before another 40 years go by!

As a holiday getaway, Florida attracts more than its fair share of tourists. Over 1.5 million Britons, for example, traveled to Florida in 2005, a staggering number when you think that the feelings towards the US throughout Europe have not been as positive as it was before 9/11.
